The Broken Strong Course
This six week course is designed to start you on a natural path toward healing from depression and anxiety.
Week One: The Many Facets of you
During week one, we will look at the importance of mindfulness and meditation as a tool for increasing a sense of well being and boosting mood. We will also start to look at the different areas of your life and what is working well in each area. As you move through the course, you will continue to examine these life areas, adding practices that are supporting you and thinking about ways to expand areas that could use attention.
Week Two: Become a Priority in your life
This week is all about you! We will talk about why taking time for yourself is no longer a luxury, but an absolute necessity. You will finish this week with a "toolbox" of practices that you can turn to when feelings of depression and anxiety start to sneak into your life.
Week Three: Non-traditional treatment options
This module is dedicated to exploring some of the non-traditional treatment modalities for depression and anxiety. Among others, we will look at the Emotional Freedom Technique, or "Tapping" to reduce feelings of depression and anxiety. This technique is based on the premise that negative emotions are a result of disruption in the flow of energy in the body. By tapping on specific places on the body (meridians), we access the body's energy to restore balance to our emotions. We will also discuss the use of essential oils to support emotional balance.
Week Four: Nutrition and Supplements
This module looks at the profound effect diet has on your mood and energy. We will explore dietary changes that support a healthy neurochemical balance. We will also look at utilizing supplements to support mood. By the end of this module, you will have a list of small dietary changes that you can implement immediately to improve your mood. You will also have the resources you need to make intelligent decisions about what supplements may be right for you.
Week Five: The Realm of the hungry ghost
During this module we will explore our tendency to reach outside of ourselves to find satisfaction. We will explore some of the behaviors that may be blocking you from feeling free...striving for perfection, grasping for the future or the past, unhealthy attachments and addictions. You will finish this module with an understanding of what behaviors you want to change and you will develop a plan to start making those shifts.
Week six: Creativity, meaning and purpose
The week is all about calling upon your creative self. We will look at utilizing creative outlets to help you get out of your head and into yourself. We will explore the importance of finding meaning and purpose in your life and work. You will finish this week inspired to express your creative self and pursue your passions.
